Discuss the author's use of setting in the story. What details help us visualize where and when this story is set? How do the details of setting the author used help to set the mood of the story, and why was it important for him to do so?

Discuss the situation the author invents for Miss Brill, Miss Brill''s motivation and decision and the understanding she comes to as a result of having been put in this situation.
